Fair housing / lending means you have the right to live wherever
you choose and to be treated according to the same rules as
everyone else. The Federal, State, and City fair housing laws
prohibits housing discrimination. You cannot be denied housing
or equal treatment as a tenant because of your:

* color
* religion
* sex
* handicap/disability
* familial status (persons with children under age 18 or
pregnant women)
* national origin
New York State and City Rights law also covers:
* Marital status
* age
New York City Human Rights law also bans
discrimination based on:
* lawful occupation
* citizenship status
* sexual orientation
Equal Credit Opportunity Act covers all personal
and business loans. It prohibits discrimination
on the basis of:
* Age, Gender, Race,
Religion, Color, Marital Status, National
Origin,
* Receipt of public assistance
* Exercising rights under consumer protection
laws
