clients.
Pre-Purchasing Counseling
AAFE CDFs pre-purchase homeownership
counseling includes purchasing procedures,
mortgage financing, down payment / closing
cost savings plans, accessibility requirements
of the property, and if appropriate, credit
improvement and debt consolidation.
Access to Credit / Mortgage Origination
AAFE CDF counsels clients on their financial
situation and assesses their readiness for
homeownership, assists with the preparation
of applications, provides translation for
applicants, maintains records and tracks applicants
information, and provides individual counseling
for those with poor credit histories or budgeting
problems.
Post-Purchasing Counseling
After closing, the AAFE CDF continues to provide
services on such issues as property maintenance,
personal money management, and accessing home
equity.
Landlord Counseling
The AAFE CDF provides required landlord and
tenant training for those interested in purchasing
2-4 family homes.
First Time Homebuyer
Course
This is a 3 session, 15 hour workshop held
on 3 consecutive Sundays, focusing on all
aspects of the homebuying process. An award
winning program, these courses are held three
times a year with a limit of 20 students per

Mortgage Delinquency
and Default Resolution
These programs, for clients in danger of payment
delinquency or foreclosure, include guidance
on restructuring debt, reinstatement or forbearance
plans, and loss mitigation services.
